How We Work

First, we work with an organization's staff to:

  • State the Organization's Commitment to Accessibility
  • Affirm Equal Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities
  • Appoint and Educate of an Accessibility Coordinator
  • Recruit and Involve an Access Advisory Committee
  • Evaluate the Accessibility of the Organization's Programs
  • Acknowledge the Organization's Limits to Accessibility

Second, we work with the organization's staff to develop and document an Access Plan, which includes:

  • Management Policies, Procedures and Practices
  • Audience Service Policies and Procedures
  • Accommodations and Facilities Available at All Times
  • Accommodations Available When Requested in Advance
  • Systematic Procedures for Responding to Access Requests
  • Training for Board Members, Full- and Part-Time Staff, and Volunteers
  • An Accessibility Grievance Procedure
  • Marketing Plan for Promoting Accessibility
  • Future Plans for Accessibility Improvements
  • Budget Planning for Accessibility Facilities and Services
  • Annual Plan to Monitor and Review Accessibility
